Me >>
My name is Carl Fischer.
I have lived and worked
in this area since 1969.
As a
young man, I
couldn’t
wait to move here to
experience first-hand
the rich heritage,
history, and natural
beauty of this
magnificent agricultural
land.
When I arrived, Loudoun
County had 17,000
residents; today, there
are an estimated
330,000
people
living and working in
this bedroom community
west of the Washington
metropolitan area.
Dulles International
Airport (IAD), located
on 12,000 acres on the
eastern edge of
the
county just 26
miles from the nation's
capitol, was completed
in 1962, and had
so
little air traffic there
was talk of
closing it. Today it is
a multi-million dollar
complex
and one of the
nation's busiest
airports with over
23 million passengers a
year.
On a typical day,
more than 60,000
passengers depart
Washington
Dulles to more
than 125
destinations around the
world. How times have
changed!
Having spent many years
managing construction
projects for major
residential
developers,
I decided
to move into real estate
sales in 1989. Over the
course of
eleven years,
I managed a team of
agents
that was recognized as
the 2nd highest
producing team
internationally in the
real estate industry's
largest franchise.
But what I enjoyed most
through all of those
years was crafting
solutions to thorny
real
estate problems.
So in 2001, I opened my
own Independent
brokerage, and
continued
to serve the community I
love.
I was active in
community and
county-wide
efforts to
shape the future of this
county, and created
"Arts
in the Alley", an
original
art and music
street festival that
drew rave reviews.
In 2007, I met the woman
I had searched a
lifetime for, and
married her shortly
thereafter. Susan is a
very special person. She
retired in 2011 after
serving this
community
for 35 years as an
Emergency Room nurse
with INOVA, our area's
largest healthcare
provider. I have great
respect for the
compassion and drive
that allowed her to do
that job so well for so
many years.
As the market nose-dived
in late 2007, I watched
the industry change
dramatically,
and
realized I could no
longer go it alone as an
independent operator.
So after carefully
investigating my
options, I chose to
affiliate with the one
real estate company that
has been consistently
producing great results
for buyers and sellers
alike since way back in
1927. And they are far
and away the best
marketing company in the
industry today. I'm
proud to be a part of
such a great group of
focused professionals.
Now, when time and
weather permits, we
enjoy riding our Harley,
"playing" with
my
hand-crafted 14'
Penobscot sailing dink,
or traveling wherever
our spirits lead
us. We
also love to share time
with family and friends.
I've been avid fisherman
since I was very young,
and I enjoy light-tackle
fishing
for anything in
the Chesapeake Bay from Solomons Island south to
the mouth of
the
Rappahannock River, or
in the Florida Keys
doing catch-and-release
fishing
for sailfish
using ultra-light
tackle. Any excuse to be
on the water is the
right one for me!
